BICYCLING AND ROAD BIKE ACTION SPOTLIGHT GIANT TCR COMPOSITE
17 February 2011
Buyer’s Guides Feature On-Road Performance Bike
Two of the biggest cycling magazines have spotlighted the 2011 Giant TCR Composite On-Road Performance Bike in their spring Buyer’s Guide issues. Bicycling Magazine and Road Bike Action singled out the TCR Composite, attesting to the fact that top-level road performance has never been more attainable. With many of the same features as the bikes raced by Rabobank pros—including the PowerCore bottom-bracket area for maximum stiffness and OverDrive headtube for precise handling—the all new TCR Composite delivers light weight, snappy power transfer and the trademark agile feel of Giant’s TCR frame design.
For Bicycling, reviewer Ron Koch writes: “Within the first few miles on our usual test route, the Composite felt as familiar as favorite jeans. We’ve been fortunate enough to log many hours on Giant’s TCR Advanced SL, the high-end cousin of the Composite, and both bikes produced strikingly similar sensations. Geometry on the entire TCR line is identical, right down to the headtube height—Giant didn’t compromise the fit or handling one iota from its race-bred steeds.”
For Road Bike Action, the reviewer writes: “With the frame descending from Giant’s pro-level race bikes, the TCR Composite rides like a race bike should: the extensive array of tube shapes combine to create a stiff frame that accelerates exceptionally well. In addition, its compact geometry, sloping top tube and short head tube allowed us to easily contort into a low, aerodynamic position.”
To read more of the glowing reviews of the TCR Composite, pick up both Bicycling and Road Bike Action at your local newsstand. The issues should be on display into early April.
